About our Imam

Imam Ahmed Abdelhamid Aly OlimyZid
– Served as the Imam for over a decade in Japan and Egypt.
-Appointed by the Ministry of Awqaf in Egypt, taking roles as an Imam, lecturer, and teacher.
– Holds a diploma in Teaching from Al-Azhar Islamic School.
– Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Literature and Education with a focus on Arabic Islamic Studies from Al-Azhar University.

In Japan, where knowledgeable Imams are rare, he is known for his willingness to engage with individuals seeking guidance on Islam. Additionally, his exceptional voice makes him a skilled reciter of the Quran; his recitations during daily prayers and special occasions like Friday prayers and Eid celebrations captivate worshippers. With over a decade at Masjid Nagoya, Imam Ahmed remains dedicated to educating others about Islam while providing spiritual leadership within both local and broader Muslim communities in Japan.

Our Journey

The Origins of AICA

Founded in 2024, Aichi Islamic Culture Association emerged from a need for a unified space for Muslims in Nagoya City. Over the years, we have developed into a hub of cultural exchange, providing support through events, educational resources, and community-building initiatives that celebrate Islamic heritage and address the spiritual needs of our members.

Our growth has been remarkable since our founding, attracting diverse community members eager to engage actively. Through dedicated efforts, AICA has become a cherished institution, embodying the spirit of cooperation and understanding within the Islamic community.
